Summary: A retelling of the Maori legend of the creation of Wellington Harbour. In ancient times in Aotearoa, there was a beautiful lake where dwelt two monstrous taniwha. Their names were Whataitai and Ngake. When Ngake became bored and decided to break free into the ocean, his actions had far reaching consequences and helped to shape the landscape of New Zealand's capital city.
