Summary: Hairy Maclary (from Donaldson's Dairy) is given a delectable bone, but getting it safely home past all the local canines proves quite a task. However by taking a well-planned route which presents obstacles not suited to the size and shape of each of the hungry entourage, Hairy finally arrives 'home on his own, Hairy Maclary with ALL his bone'. Hairy is a delightful and debonair character, more than a match for his furry friends. His mischievous ways will amuse and delight the readers who will also appreciate the absurd dog names and the sense of anticipation created by the rhythmical verse of the text
